Carol A. Angerer, CPA, CGMA

Carol Angerer joined the firm in 2006 and became a CPA in 2009. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Carol has also obtained the CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) designation from the AICPA. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with dual majors in Accounting and Financial Services from Columbia College. Carol’s public accounting experience focuses in the area of business and individual taxation, as well as financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll. Before joining the partnership, Carol worked with her parents in their family business, Timothy J. Barnhart, DDS, PC, in Westphalia, MO.

Carol is originally from Vienna, MO and currently resides in the Brazito area of rural Cole County with her husband, Craig, and their two children, Luke and Jacob. Carol is active in the community and serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Directors of the HALO Foundation. Carol and her family are members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Carol is an avid reader and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends.

Jaclyn P. Abbott, CPA

Jaclyn Abbott joined the firm in October 2018. She attended the University of Missouri where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in December 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences with emphasis in Personal Financial Planning. Through her undergrad she was a coach in the Office for Financial Success and volunteered through the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance program, completing taxes for students and low-income members of the community. Through this experience she found an appreciation for tax preparation and later went on to get her Masters in Accounting from Maryville University in May 2018.

Jaclyn grew up and currently resides in Ashland Missouri with her husband, Blaine, and their two bulldogs, Karl and Nelson. Blaine manages the club program at Bass Pro in Columbia. When not working, they share a love of the outdoors and enjoy fishing and kayaking. Jaclyn’s key to success is learning something new every single day and looks forward to transforming from student to master.


Misty R. Miles Senior Staff Accountant

Misty Miles joined Abbott & Angerer in December 2012. She is a Jefferson City native and graduate of Jefferson City High School. Misty graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration. Prior to joining the firm, Misty worked in industry as a plant management accountant for Textron Automotive. Her husband is a senior project manager with Pro Foods Solutions. She is a past treasurer of Capital Classics.  Misty’s professionalism is vital in keeping up with client bookkeeping and payrolls.

Misty is the booster club treasurer for the Capital Classics ice skating teams. She and her husband, Derick, spend much of their time at the ice skating rink, baseball field, or basketball court with their two children Ericka and Brock. Derick is a Professional Engineer for the Missouri Public Service Commission. They are active members of First United Methodist Church.

Alyssa Hull Staff Accountant

Alyssa Hull joined the firm in August of 2019.  She attended Lincoln University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  Throughout her academic career, Alyssa worked in banking and completed an internship in public accounting.  Through this internship, she found an enjoyment for tax preparation that encouraged her to pursue a career in public accounting.  In addition to assisting with tax preparation, Alyssa also prepares payroll and monthly accounting work for our business clients. Alyssa is continuing her education and hopes to sit for the CPA exam in 2020.

Alyssa is a native of Texas but she and her husband, Garrett, have made Jefferson City their home.  Garrett is a medical student training at Capital Region Medical Center and is pursuing his career as a primary care physician.  Alyssa and Garrett are active members of Memorial Baptist Church and enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with their family.


Lisa A. Cook Payroll Specialist

Lisa Cook joined the firm in July 2017. She is a graduate of New Bloomfield High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration from Lincoln University. Lisa obtained her Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) in October of 2008 and brings many of payroll experience to the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Lisa worked for JCMG as a Payroll Practitioner. Lisa oversees the payroll processing for our clients and maintains her FPC certification to ensure we are current with the ever changing payroll laws and regulations.

Lisa is a resident of Jefferson City, along with her husband, Jeff, and their two children, Quentin and Cassandra. Jeff has been employed with Scholastic, Inc. for more than twenty years. Lisa is the PTO treasurer for Lawson Elementary in Jefferson City as well as a Girl Scout Troop leader. In her spare time Lisa enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Jeana Richardson Office Administrator

Jeana Richardson joined Abbott & Angerer in September 2019.  She is a graduate of Southern Boone County High School and has a Certificate of Accountancy from Hickey College.  She has also attended Columbia College and Lincoln University.  She is committed to meeting the goals set before her and learning something new every day.

Jeana grew up and currently lives in Ashland Missouri.  She and her husband Jesse, have two adult children:  JD and Jaclyn. Jesse is an Engineer with GE Healthcare and is retired from the US Army Reserves.  In their spare time they help family with home improvement and outdoor projects.  They also enjoy camping in their 5th wheel and traveling.


Karen Koetting

Karen Koetting joined Abbott & Angerer in September of 2020. She graduated from Blair Oaks High School. She grew up in Wardsville on a farm with nine siblings. She values the life lessons her parents and older siblings have taught her, especially the importance of hard work and treating your neighbor with kindness. She spent thirty years working many different jobs in a medical clinic. When the physician she worked with there retired, she wanted to move on too and try something new. She loves to meet and greet clients and make sure they feel welcome and satisfied with the services they receive. Karen and her husband Doug live in Henley, MO where they own a farm with crops and cattle. Her husband is a mechanic and, in general, a jack of all trades. They have two grown children: Alee and Adam, who are both graduated from college and establishing their careers. In their spare time, they love to hang out on their farm, in the “shed”, with family and friends and just visit and play games and cards, mostly pitch and volleyball. And weather permitting, most weekends in the summer, you will find them on the Osage River.

Emily Veasman

Emily Veasman joined the firm in September 2020. She is currently attending Lincoln University and plans to graduate in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She then plans to obtain her Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Prior to her role with the firm, Emily worked as a teller at the Maries County Bank in Vienna and St. James. Emily grew up and currently resides in Brinktown, MO with her parents, Tom and Dianne, and her two siblings, Ryan and Elizabeth. In her spare time, Emily enjoys cooking, kayaking, and even doing laundry! Emily is very excited to learn all she can in her role at Abbott and Angerer to further enhance her knowledge in the Accounting field.
